Don’t Live In Doubt: Hepatitis C

Forward Leeds are part of a pioneering nationwide campaign to eradicate Hepatitis C. Opal worked with Forward Leeds to create a film as part of their ‘Get Tested, Get Treated’ campaign – the aim being to launch ahead of World Hepatitis Day 2019 and educate people about the revolutionary new treatment available for Hepatitis C.

We had to get creative as there is a big stigma around Hepatitis C, and our contributors wanted to tell their stories anonymously. Leeds as a region has put a lot of research and funding into this, so the film needed a strong local feel. We ticked both those boxes and now the film has been published, hopefully it’s playing its part in helping to save lives at risk from Hepatitis C.

The film received huge praise from Leeds City Council and the Hepatitis C Trust. The proudest achievement though has to be the film placing joint second in the global film competition run by the Coalition for Global Hepatitis Elimination, sitting beside films from around the globe, this was a real honour.
