Wool Circle

A sheep farmer, a knitter and a wool enthusiast set out on a challenge to create a fully traceable Yorkshire yarn. Nic, the knitter was questioning what ‘British Wool’ truly meant, and where her wool was really coming from, little did she know that just 2 miles up the road, Ed & Laura, husband and wife sheep farmers were breeding Lonk, a native breed to the Hebden Bridge area. Like most sheep farmers in the UK they were struggling with what to do with their fleeces once the sheep had been sheered, today, it is practically worthless, but they knew there must be a better solution. This film documents their journey as together they set out to turn the industry on its head and show that British Wool does have a purpose and doesn’t need to be burnt, buried or wasted.
